What is Kitchens of the Bluegrass Tour?

The 17th Annual Kitchens of the Bluegrass Tour will showcase 12 of Lexington's finest residential kitchens created by the city’s most celebrated kitchen designers. The event will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, May 20, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

Where do I start the tour?

Just head to any of the homes. If you bought a pre-sale ticket, just tell the volunteer your name, and you will be given a program. The program serves as your ticket to the other homes on the tour. Click here for a Google Map of the tour.

Can I buy tickets day-of?

Absolutely! You can either buy by clicking here, or you can pay by cash or check at any of the tour homes.

Where will Kitchens of the Bluegrass Tour take place this year?

12 homes in Lexinton will be featured on this year’s tour. A program and a mobile map will be available with the home locations, a map and directions to each house on the Tour.


What types of tours are offered?

The tour is a self-guided, self-directed tour, which may include uneven or steep terrain.

How much are tickets?

Kitchens of the Bluegrass Tour tickets are $20 in advance and $25 the weekend of the tour. Tour tickets are valid for both Saturday and Sunday of the event.


Are there group discounts?

No, we do not offer discount group tickets.

Do you off children’s tickets?

No, we do not offer children’s tickets for the Tour of Kitchens. Children 12 and under are free.

How can I purchase tickets?

You can purchase tickets through the website by clicking here  or by visiting any home during your tour.

Where do I pick up my tickets?

Pick up your tickets at any of the homes on the tour!


Will you mail my tickets to me?

We are unable to mail tickets. If you order online, you can pick them up at any house.

Is transportation provided for the tour?

There is no transportation provided for the tour. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes as this is a self-guided tour, which may include uneven or steep terrain.


Where do I park?

Parking is available on the streets surrounding the homes on the tour. 


Do I have to tour the homes in a certain order? Do I have to stay with a group?


No, the tour is self-guided and you are invited to see the homes in the order you chose. The most convenient route is included with a map and directions in the program. Volunteers will be in each home to answer any questions, along with the kitchen designers who will be able to discuss the special features of the kitchens.

The Kitchens of the Bluegrass Tour is sponsored by UK Healthcare and WesBanco. The tour is produced by Smiley Pete Publishing and benefits the Child Development Center of the Bluegrass.
